Cost based Oracle has reached Germany!

Hi,
today when I came home there was a package from amazon – it contained the book Cost Based Oracle Fundamentals which I ordered in advance. I just could not wait to open the book. In 15 Minutes I would have to leave with my wife to go shopping at IKEA. So I had only a few minutes for the first review.

My first impression of t he book was it’s content was about 500 pages. Is that really needed for the basic understanding of CBO? Then I opened it. I saw into well organized structured chapters with a lot of examples and explaining sections. And I saw that this book would be a complete reference of the functioning of CBO. It seems that all aspects of CBO have been addressed.

Great!

This book is a very special book in my eyes. You could write thousand of tuning books but without a deeper understanding of CBO you will always stay on the guessing level: this kind of tuning did not help - let’s try another one. I am sure this book will be my absolute favourite; if all would read it - the Metalink Oracle Performance forum would become a lonely place.

Thank you Jonathan.
